2 Events yesterday of note !

Good Moring again from your Coldhurst and Westwood Team.

Yesterday my colleagues were out and about doing a day of action around our area. 2 Colleagues attended Oldham Collage on Rochdale Road to do a Bike marking initiative due to the number of Cycles being stolen in the area around the College and Leisure Centre.

This was well attended by students of Oldham College with all their cycles being security marked and now logged onto the National Bike Register which can be accessed by members of the public by using the following web site: www.bikeregister.com

We recommend everyone with a new bike should register it straight away, as we do get to return quite a lot of cycles to their rightful owners throughout the year, providing we have your details on the database. I hope to get you some pictures of the event soon and also let you know of plans for future registration in the area.

Another team of ours also attended the Westwood Prep School on Kelsall Street near to West Street where they spoke to staff and children about the Police in general and how we deal and manage crime. This visit was requested by school staff as it tied in with some of their current subject matter. Colleagues brought Uniform for the kids to try out and a Police Vehicle for them to have a look round. The team also handed leaflets out at the OBA Millennium Cultural Centre regarding the Bee in the Loop access.

I’ve got a few pictures from the event yesterday as attachments, please note that all photos taken were with the consent of Staff & Parents.

Please let us know if you are aware of any other schools in the area who would like a similar input and we will endeavour to sort out a date and time with you in the near future.

Rgds
