We have recently had reports of potential bogus tradesmen operating on Hough Fold Way. 

On Saturday 16th November around 15:00Hrs. 2-3 males attended the area and were canvasing offering to jet wash driveways and clean gutters. The males were very persistent and pushy, they were then charging an highly-inflated price for carrying out the work. The males were seen in a white van and left the area around 16:00Hrs after carrying out work on one of the properties.

Bogus Tradesmen have previously targeted the area, they can be very convincing and may appear to be genuine tradespeople, so we would urge people to do their research before employing a person or company to do any work for you.

Rogue traders will often demand cash up front, won’t use any paperwork, and will often create new ‘problems’ which need fixing to get more money.

Crimes like these can have a huge impact on victims so if you know or live near to any vulnerable or elderly residents, please look out for them and contact police immediately if you think they are being targeted.

I have attached a document with some crime prevention advice. If these males have been to your address then could you please let me know, and if possible check any CCTV that may have captured them.
