Your Neighbourhood Policing Team - Successful Cannabis Farm Warrant

Chief Superintendent Kirsty Oliver, Bury’s new district commander recently joined officers from Radcliffe and Elton and Church Neighbourhood teams to conduct a warrant at an address in Bury.

Acting on intelligence gathered from within the community, officers visited an address on Mitchell Street where they forced entry and discovered a sophisticated cannabis farm within the property.

The farm was spread across two floors and around 300 plants were seized overall, with half being at the beginning of their growth cycle, and 100 that had been harvested. Altogether they had a combined estimated street value of £100,000.

Whilst at the property, officers noticed a vehicle parked outside. On further inspection, it transpired that it had been stolen and had false plates.

Chief Superintendent Kirsty Oliver said: “Today’s findings bring a conclusion to the excellent work of our Neighbourhood team, who investigated and worked proactively to tackle drug crime and those who profit from criminality.

“Communities are essential to preventing and solving crime. I’m grateful to those members of the local community who provided us with important information. They were concerned and want to create a safer environment in the area."
