Yesterday morning, myself and colleagues from Astley Bridge Police Station conducted a warrant at an address on Bennetts Lane, following intelligence passed to the us from members of the community and work carried out by our intelligence unit.  The intelligence suggested that cannabis was being grown on the premises, and after forcing entry, we found strong evidence that a large cannabis farm had been in operation, however it had recently been moved. 

This was a disappointing result, however I believe it highlights the importance of good communication between members of the public and ourselves.  And I would encourage anyone to do so.  To pass the Police information about this kind of behaviour or any other potentially criminal behaviour the GMP website is the best and quickest way to do this (see link below).  Here you can tell us about a whole range or topics.  This information will then be assessed and disseminated to the relevant department, and I as your Neighbourhood Beat Officer, should also pick it up.
