Last year, in June, I investigated a theft from H. Samuels in Merseyway Shopping Centre where two pieces of gold jewellery were taken by a man posing as a legitimate customer. He stole a 9ct Yellow Gold 24 Inch Curb Chain (£699.00) and a 9ct Yellow Solid Gold 8 Inch Curb Chain Bracelet (£1249.00).

With help from Anchor Security based at the Peel Centre, I was quickly able to identify the suspect as a male who had recently moved to Stockport from the south.

He failed to appear at court in August last year and as such a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On 19/11/2024 the male was arrested for failing to appear for numerous offences and remanded to court where he was sentenced.

Robin Davie (38) of No Fixed Abode will be serving a custodial sentence of 4 years and 6 months for the offence of Theft from H. Samuels, amongst other Theft related offences that occurred elsewhere.

I think it is safe to say that he will not be returning to Stockport anytime soon!
