Moving on from yesterdays theme of Pedal Cycles. I have received complaints around the number of pedal cyclists that are seen without any form of lighting. I notice that a lot of people do ride their bikes with no lights on their bikes. Couple this with dark clothing. This could potentially cause a life changing experience should they have an accident. 

If we own a bike or have children who have bikes. Can we encourage them to have fitted a front and a rear light for their own safety. 

It is a legal requirement for persons to have front and rear lights fitted to their bikes. Which if found without the rider could face a fixed penalty notice. These requirement are only for between sunset and sunrise or when visibility is deemed insufficient.
