Operation Vulcan and partners day of action

Good Morning all,

Yesterday (08th April) Operation Vulcan along with colleagues from the local neighbourhood team, the roads policing unit and the forces Transport Unit conducted a day of action in the Derker area.

This included a vehicle stop check point on Ripponden Road as well as a knife arch operation at Derker tram stop.

There was a number of vehicles seized for having no insurance as well as traffic reports issued for people using thier mobile phone whilst driving. I want Derker to be a safe place to use the roads.

A number of arrests were made throughout the day for people who had failed to appear at court as well as for theft and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Please see the below article where we conducted a drugs warrant in Derker and seized a large quantity of cannabis along with 3 off road vehicles. - https://www.gmp.police.uk/news/greater-manchester/news/news/2025/april/operation-vulcan-seize-more-drugs-and-e-bikes-in-early-morning-raid/
