Bolton Volunteer Police Cadets

Sgt Prudence and Sgt White visited the Bolton Volunteer Police Cadets last night. We took down one of our police carriers, showing the young people around the cell at the rear, our storage for equipment, and how to use our lights and sirens. We also took down some public order kit to show them, with Sgt White getting suited and booted for the occasion.

The young people were very engaging, asking lots of questions and were enthusiastic as to their passions to join the police or learn more about the role. The Volunteer Police Cadets operate across Greater Manchester and are open to 13 to 17 year olds. They meet once a week during term time and promote an interest in policing among young people. There are also cadet leader roles available for adults who wish to volunteer time to help shape the younger generation and our future police officers. There are video clips and further information around the scheme available on the GMP website.

If you know a young person who would be interested, or are interested in becoming a cadet leader please visit; Cadets | Greater Manchester Police.
