When you carry a knife, you are risking everything. Prison, being a victim of crime and even ending up in hospital with a serious, or even worse, fatal injury.

This week officers will be conducting high visibility patrols in relation to the “Sceptre” week of action, this is a national police initiative to tackle knife crime which takes place this week 20th May 2025 to the 27th of May 2025 

 Sceptre brings together all 43 police forces across England and Wales in a week of intensified action with forces coordinating activity which targets knife crime from the root cause right through to enforcement. 

A variety of other tactics are used by forces; including weapons sweeps, engagement with schools and local communities, knife arches in public places and events and knife surrender bins to remove knives off the streets.
