Vehicle crime/Drug Dealing

Good Evening residents.

I am just sending this message out to highlight an issue and urge you to come forward with any information which may be troubling you.

On  Sunday 19th May I was on patrol on Irving Street and Portland Street and noticed a suspicious transaction, between a pedestrian and a the driver of a vehicle.  This area of Crompton has been highlighted to me as an area of drug dealing and drug use.  I followed the vehicle for a short time before requesting it to stop.  The driver ignored this request and short pursuit took place though Bolton town centre.  The driver of the vehicle was stopped by traffic officers and was arrested for several driving offences and on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class C drugs, for which he has subsequently been charged for.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for providing me with the information and please be assured that I will continue to patrol this area whenever I am on duty.  If there are any other issues or area of concern within our ward, please do not hesitate to pass this onto the police.  This can easily be done, via the GMP website or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

Thank you

PC Chris Mulligan.
