Dear Residents , 

Someone standing that bit too close behind you when you're putting your PIN in at a cash point? Are they trying to get your attention while you're withdrawing money? 

These are just a couple of ways thieves try and distract you to steal your card details and funds at an ATM. Please share with family  & friends. 

🤚 Always cover the keypad with your hand to prevent your PIN from being seen by a criminal over your shoulder or by a hidden camera.

👀 Keep an eye out for people standing too close to you or trying to get your attention - even if they seem friendly - as they could be trying to steal your card details.

📞 If your card has been retained by the machine, make sure to report this to your card provider immediately if possible whilst at or nearby the machine. 

👛 Put your purse or wallet away as soon as you leave the cash point.
