Male arrested ASDA Hulme

On Friday just gone (27th June) at around 1130 am, Officers attended ASDA Hulme to arrest a male for begging offences after he was spotted by an off duty officer. The male in question has been warned repeatedly that begging on the roads is highly dangerous. He has also been arrested for this several times of late but this male has continued his behaviour. The male was very aggressive towards Officers and during a violent struggle called the Officer racist names. He was subsequently charged and remanded for court appearing on Saturday 28th June.

This behaviour is unacceptable. The Central Neighbourhood Team will continue to do everything to tackle issues which cause harm to the community.
