Arrest of Prolific Shoplifter

Earlier today, officers from Manchester Town Hall Police Station, PC Pennington, PC Riaz, and PC Tang — arrested a female in connection with prolific shoplifting. The arrest followed a detailed investigation led by PC Pennington.

During the arrest, the suspect racially abused one of our officers. She has since been interviewed and charged with:

• 2 counts of shoplifting
• 1 racially aggravated public order offence

She has been remanded in custody to appear at the next available court.
