How to Spot a Cannabis FarmThese farms are often hidden in residential or commercial properties. Here are common indicators: 1. Covered or Blacked-Out WindowsCurtains or blinds always closed. Windows covered with reflective material or black plastic. A distinctive, sweet, skunky smell, especially noticeable at certain times of day or from vents. Cannabis farms generate a lot of heat. In winter, snow may melt quickly on the roof of a property compared to neighbouring houses.
The sound of fans, ventilation systems, or hydroponic equipment running continuously. Water droplets on windows, even in warm weather. People visiting at odd hours, often briefly. Rarely seeing the occupants, or seeing different people frequently. Signs of electrical tampering or unusually high electricity use. GMP often finds electricity abstraction (illegal tapping into the grid) during raids.
