I hope this message finds you well.

My name is PC Olumefun, and I am writing to introduce myself as the new Neighbourhood Beat Officer (NBO) for Newton, Hyde, following the retirement of PC Craig. 

I want to begin by sincerely thanking you for the great work you continue to do in supporting and improving our community.

Since stepping into this role, I have been working to familiarise myself with the area — including key residential zones, hotspot locations, schools, places of worship, businesses, and other community spaces that make Newton such a diverse and vibrant part of Tameside. 

My aim is to build strong relationships and maintain a visible and approachable policing presence across the neighbourhood.

I am fully committed to working collaboratively with you to ensure Newton remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Your ongoing partnership, insight, and feedback are vital in helping us identify priorities, tackle local issues, and promote public confidence.

Over the coming weeks, I plan to visit local areas and meet with community members and partners in person. Please do feel free to get in touch if you would like me to attend any meetings, events, or community activities — or simply to have a chat about how we can best work together. If there are any emerging concerns or issues that require attention, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
