Did you get a Drone? |
||
|
Dear Residents,
Did you or your child get a drone this Christmas?
Whether you or your child opened one on Christmas morning, or you’ve had one for a while and enjoyed a flight over the festive season, they can be great fun.
The law has very recently been updated around drones, so make sure you’re in the know and don’t get caught out.
The full details can be found on the Civil Aviation Authority website: https://orlo.uk/lJ0Ix
⚖️ Does your drone weigh over 100g? Pilots will now need to take a theory test on the Civil Aviation Authority website to obtain a Flyer ID. 📸 Does your done have a camera? You must register with the CAA to get an Operator ID, in addition to a Flyer ID, which will identify who is responsible for the drone. 🧒 Does your child under 13 have a drone? Children under 13 years of age, who will be flying the drone, must obtain a Flyer ID and have a parent or guardian present when they take their theory test. 👨👩👧 Does your child under 12 have a drone? Children under 12 years of age must be supervised by someone over the age of 16 when flying drones. Parents or guardians are required to obtain an Operator ID.
Remember to also attach your contact details to your drone in case it gets lost, and most importantly, fly safely and enjoy!
