Operation Considerate come to Swinton

This week your Swinton Neighbourhood Team teamed up with our colleagues from GMP Roads Policing as part of Operation Considerate — GMP’s ongoing effort to tackle unsafe driving and help keep our roads safer for all. This operation focuses on identifying driving offences and raising awareness about the small things we can all do to prevent serious accidents.

What We Got Up To

Over the course of the operation in Swinton, we carried out a number of roadside checks resulting in:

🚗 80+ vehicles checks

📝 26 Traffic Offence Reports issued for offences such as mobile‑phone use, not wearing seatbelts, and speeding

🚓 Several vehicles seized due to having no valid insurance

👮‍♂️ 1 wanted male arrested after being located during a vehicle stop — wanted for failing to appear at court

Why It Matters

Many road traffic offences might seem minor at first glance, but GMP reminds us that these are exactly the types of behaviours that can lead to serious collisions. Operation Considerate is all about tackling these issues early and helping everyone stay safe.

We encourage residents to:

Drive responsibly and adhere to road signs and highway regulations

Report incidents of dangerous driving or traffic‑related concerns directly to GMP via the online reporting portal linked to Operation Considerate

Stay alert and look out for one another on the roads
