Seizure of nitrous oxide and arrest for vehicle interference

Here is a quick update on what your Over Hulton and Middle Hulton Neighbourhood Officers have been doing on Wednesday 1st April 2026 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

While on mobile patrol on Longfellow Avenue, PC Morris and PC Chadwick spotted a vehicle known for involvement with nitrous oxide and which had previously evaded police the night before 🚗💨.
 

This time, the driver was unable to get away and was detained under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Nitrous oxide was found inside the vehicle, and the driver will be dealt with at a later date for possession of a Class C drug.

Shortly afterwards, we received a report of vehicle interference at the junction of St Helens Road and Chilham Street. Your local officers attended swiftly and detained a male suspect while he was still inside the vehicle!
He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and will be interviewed about the offence.
