Town Centre Patrol

Good Evening all,

On today’s patrol we have had PC 05086 Maestro, PCSO 72838 Davies, PCSO 73333 Cornell and 3 students on Rochdale Town Centre today. Our sole focus has been around stop searches today as stop searches ensure we find or deter people from carrying and effectively doing something that could cause themselves and others harm. Officers have had 4 stop searches, all positive for class B and class C drugs, and one vehicle stopped.

During the vehicle stop, a male was arrested due to dangerous driving and possession of a class B drug. Which resulted to be a moment of fast thinking and proactive action from all officers. The male failed to stop for officers around the Sparrow Hill area but didn’t get very far as he was apprehended and arrested on Vicars Drive.

Visible patrols were given throughout the evening, ensuring we were a steady presence on the town centre during our duties.
