Prolific Shoplifter Apprehended

Dear Businesses and Residents,

On Thursday 11th June, a prolific shoplifter ran out of a local store with goods.

The male, Steven WRIGLEY 05/02/82, No Fixed Abode was caught up with a short time later by Neighbourhood Officers after some fantastic partnership working along with local council CCTV operators.

After a brief struggle, WRIGLEY was arrested and he has now been charged with:

2 x theft

2 x Assault Emergency Worker

1 x Breach of court order.

He has appeared at Tameside Magistrate Court and will now face 4 weeks behind bars.

A Criminal Behaviour Order has been applied for and granted and now WRIGLEY can not set foot on most areas of Ashton Town Centre for a period of 2 years.
