Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action |
||
|
Across the UK, Police Forces have been celebrating their Neighbourhood Policing Teams with an emphasis on those issues that matter most to the communities that we serve. This week, the Salford North Neighbourhood Team, covering all areas of Broughton, have been involved in the following activities.
Monday – Worked in conjunction with the local authority and other partners in the eviction of a number of travellers from the district
Wednesday – Operation PALOS – This operation is a nationwide initiative that targets illegal working and the illegal use of E-Bikes in the ‘Gig’ economy. Delivery riders are stopped and enforcement action undertaken in relation to illegal bikes whilst also running person checks to ensure those working in this sector are legally operating. This also allows us to collect important intelligence around organised crime groups operating in this area of organised immigration crime.
Thursday – Seized a significant number of Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) cannisters from a local hotel, followed by traffic enforcement around the Kersal area with illegal off-road bikes seized.
Friday – Focus on retail crime which is a national policing priority by spending time in and around local supermarkets, primarily in relation to issues with shoplifting, but also to combat youth ASB. Whilst out supporting local businesses we conducted several positive stop searches around the Blackfriars and Trinity area.
If there are issues in your local area you want to make us aware of, feel free to message us back here and let us know.
Kind Regards, PC 17705 Fenwick Salford North Neighbourhood Team
