Suspected drug dealer Caught in Denshaw!

Dear Residents,

Yesterday at approximately 8:00pm, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team was conducting proactive patrols in areas identified as hotspots for drug related activity.

Whilst on patrol in Denshaw, officers attended the Mast site on Ripponden Road, near Junction 22 of the M62. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle and detected a strong smell of cannabis coming from inside. As a result, the occupants were stopped and searched using police powers.

During the search, officers located a backpack. A search of the bag revealed a significant quantity of Class A and Class B drugs, weighing scales, and a number of empty snap bags commonly associated with the supply of controlled drugs.

The owner of the backpack was identified and subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug related offences. They were taken into police custody whilst further enquiries are carried out.

This is another example of how proactive hotspot patrols can deliver positive results. By targeting areas where concerns have been raised, we can identify offenders, disrupt criminal activity, and help make our communities safer for everyone.

These results are only possible because of the information and intelligence provided by members of the public. Every report helps us build a clearer picture of where and when issues are occurring, allowing us to focus our patrols effectively and take action before problems escalate.
