Piccadilly Gardens Team Tackles a Range of Incidents

The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team has continued to take positive action to keep the area safe and welcoming for residents, visitors and businesses.

PC Lomax arrested an adult male on suspicion of illegal entry to the UK after the male told officers that he had entered the country after hiding in the back of a lorry. The circumstances of the man’s arrival in the UK are now subject to further enquiries.

PC Simm also made an arrest following an incident in which an adult male was alleged to have exposed his genitals towards members of the public. The arrest demonstrates the team’s commitment to responding to behaviour that causes concern and distress within the Gardens.

Meanwhile, PC Duffy is investigating a separate incident involving two young women who were approached by an unknown male in Piccadilly Gardens. The male is alleged to have made sexualised comments towards the women before leaving the area. Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the male, and officers are continuing to pursue available lines of enquiry.

The Piccadilly Gardens team will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area, respond to reports from the public and work with partner agencies and local businesses to address issues affecting the community.

These incidents demonstrate the importance of having officers visible and accessible in the area, responding to reports and taking positive action where offences are identified.
