Good morning,

Over the weekend, PC Ali, the new Castlefield Neighbourhood Officer, was on patrol on Sunday morning when she identified a male suspect. Following enquiries, it was established that the male was wanted for offences in Salford and had also failed to appear at court for other matters. He was subsequently arrested and transported to custody.

Later that day, PC Ali made enquiries into a business burglary at Blues Kitchen, which had occurred at approximately 8:00am the previous morning, during which around £2,000 worth of stock was stolen. PC Ali immediately recognised the offender as the same male she had arrested earlier that day.

The offender was subsequently charged with the burglary and remanded to court. He has since been sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

This is excellent work by PC Ali, not only in locating and arresting the offender, but also in progressing the burglary investigation, resulting in a positive outcome. Her actions have helped remove a prolific offender from the city centre and will contribute to keeping our communities and businesses safer.
