Section 165 Seizure / No Insurance

Dear Residents. 

Vehicle Seized for No Insurance

Last evening (Tuesday 29 September 2026), officers from the Chadderton Neighbourhood Policing Team seized a vehicle on Albion Street, near to the junction of Halbury Gardens, next to St Luke's primary school, Chadderton, Oldham, under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act after enquiries established that the teenage driver had no insurance to drive the vehicle.

We are committed to keeping our roads safe and ensuring that all drivers comply with the law. Driving without insurance puts other road users at risk and can have serious consequences.

Our officers will continue to proactively stop vehicles and carry out the necessary checks where there are grounds to believe a driver may not be insured to use a vehicle. Where offences are identified, appropriate action will be taken.

We will remain visible in our communities, tackling issues that matter to residents and helping to make Chadderton's roads safer for everyone.
